 Event Date : 27 Apr, 2024
Description: “If it's smart, it's vulnerable.” “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and a few minutes of cyber incident to ruin it.” “Security should be built in, not bolt-on.” “If you can't afford security, you can't afford a breach.” To help the students understand cyber threats and how to protect themselves online, an orientation programme on cyber security was conducted on 27 April 2024 for Classes VIII-X at St Joseph’s Convent School, Bathinda. Our resource person, an alumnus of BITS Pilani, Mr. Mandeep Singh Cheema, a renowned figure in the realm of Big Data and AI, serving as a Director with a rich professional journey spanning over 16 years, shared his expertise encompassing a broad spectrum of big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Through this orientation, learning about common cyber threats such as phishing scams, identity theft, and malware, students learnt how they can take proactive measures to safeguard their personal information and digital assets. In today's interconnected landscape, cyber security is not just a technical issue but also a critical aspect of national security, business continuity, and personal privacy. Students participated actively in question session and thus enhanced their knowledge about cyber security.
